Slow-cooked Lentil Bolognese Sauce

Slightly modified a Simply Whisked Recipe | Makes: ~2-3 cups | Time: 5 hours


1 small yellow onion, diced

2 carrots, diced

2 celery stalks, diced

3 garlic cloves, minced

Salt & pepper

8 oz dried green lentils, rinsed and picked through

1 28-ounce cans crushed tomatoes

2.5 cups vegetable broth

1 bay leaf

1 tbsp dried basil

1 tsp dried parsley

1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

zoodles bolognese


Mix together all the ingredients. Slow cook for 5 hours.

Ladle over noodles of choice. We did zoodles.
