Source: Very Vegan Val | Makes: ~1 cup | Time: 20 min
Changes: replaced maple syrup with agave nectar; added water to thin
Ingredients
1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
½ cup vegetable oil
3 tbsp aquafaba
1 fat clove clove garlic
1 tsp agave nectar
¼ tsp dried dill
¼ tsp chili powder
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Rinse and boil the dried hibiscus flowers for at least 10 min. Drain the pot (saving the hibiscus juice for later) and rinse the flowers off. Add the flowers and remaining ingredients save for the water to a Ninja Bullet or Vitamix and blend until smooth. Slowly add water to reach your desired consistency.
Enjoy it however you'd like. I made a salad with lettuce, corn, chickpeas, red onion, tomato, and green bell pepper. I could see putting it on toast or adding it to a rice bowl. I could also see using it instead of avocado crema for certain dishes. It's an exciting addition :)
